The Sulphur Chemicals business is the UK's leading producer and supplier of sulphuric acid and related chemicals. Production is centered on a 300 kte/yr plant at Runcorn, which makes a range of high quality products using double absorption technology. The plant is part of the way through a multi-million pound investment programme that includes a new, state-of-the-art ultrapure sulphuric acid plant to serve the semiconductor and pharmaceuticals industry as well as investment to underpin reliable supply of all our products to our customers.

The range of products produced at the Runcorn plant includes ultrapure sulphuric acid, high grade acid at a variety of strengths and oleum 20, liquid SO3 and liquid SO2.

The business is also a major importer of high quality sulphuric acid and also supplies molten sulphur and sodium hydrosulphide to the UK market.
