We produce approximately 300,000 tonnes of ethanol per annum at our site in Grangemouth, UK using the direct hydration of ethylene process.

Ethanol is one of the largest volume organic chemicals used in industrial and consumer products. Synthetic ethanol is a key raw material in the production of other chemicals and it is used extensively as a solvent in the production of pharmaceuticals, printing inks for food packaging and in toiletries and cosmetics formulations such as hairspray.
